Vicarage Road

This project had two distinct parts - firstly to convert the loft of an existing bungalow with a pyramid roof, and secondly to demolish the existing garage and build a small annexe in its place.

The loft conversion included two dormer windows to give additional headroom and conventional windows to complement the rooflights. A small dormer on the front blends well with the other properties in the street, whilst at the rear a much larger, glazed dormer provides views overlooking the village and fields beyond. To gain space inside, a large existing chimney stack was removed and rebuilt to a smaller, more convenient size.

The annexe is a small single storey structure providing one bedroom accommodation. In line with council requirements it contains no kitchen and has a door linking it to the main house.
