New Bungalow, Penwithick

This bungalow style dwelling has been designed for a vacant site in Penwithick, north of St Austell. The site itself is triangular in shape which made the laying out of the site challenging. Our proposal is for a two bedroom bungalow style dwelling, with one of the bedrooms in the form of a room in the roof. This arrangement allows for the size of the dwelling’s footprint to be more appropriate to that of the site, and allows for ample amounts of amenity space.

Another key aspect of the site was its prominent location therefore the form of the building reduces with the narrowing of the site this makes it less prominent when viewed from the road. The resultant proposal is one which is subservient to the adjacent properties; its fenestrations help form verticality along the street scene, while its finishes blend with the surrounding properties.
