Extension, Mevagissey

A large extension to an existing single bedroom bungalow. The house is on a steeply sloping plot, and this was utilised by cutting into the ground and creating a two storey extension. Solar panels have been installed on the South facing roof as a renewable energy source to provide hot water, and these work in connection with a new high efficiency, condensing boiler to meet all of the house’s heating and hot water needs.

We proposed using the earth removed when cutting into the ground to level out the steep garden, and worked alongside a local landscape gardener (Mr Darren Hawkes of Wheelbarrow), creating a 3D computer model of the site to plan out the groundworks and landscaping to the garden.

Once work began on site we took on the role of contract administrators, undertaking site inspections and overseeing the works as they progressed. At the end of the project an Architects Certificate was issued to the building owner as assurance that the building has been built soundly.

Grade II House & Barns Refurbishment

The property is a detached Grade II Listed house which was originally constructed in c1710. This property stands on the site of an ancient Cluniac Priory. Little of the original building remains, although some early carved stones have been excavated by previous owners.
