Eco Lodges

The site is an existing farm complex, where both the farmhouse and a converted barn are used for holiday let. We have prepared designs and received planning permission for two further barns to be converted – one as a further holiday cottage and another as a manager’s dwelling.

In addition to this, the client asked us to prepare concept sketches for several new, ‘log cabin’ style eco house holiday lodges which would be built in combination with the creation of other recreational facilities on the site. The lodges are of a timber clad, modern design in a T-shape, enclosing a private decking area that mimics the typical layout of farm buildings around a central yard.

The lodges are proposed to be built in a sustainable manner, using renewable energy and natural materials such as timber and sheep’s wool insulation.

Status: The client is currently preparing a business plan and is in discussions to secure finance for the scheme.

Replacement Dwelling

The client wished to create a modern, light filled, energy efficient and low maintenance property whilst providing an adequate and adaptable living space. The existing bungalow was in a poor state of repair. It was poorly insulated and expensive to heat with no architectural merit.
